We are proud to see Alexander Liu off to pursue his PhD at the University of California San Diego in the United States. Alex began volunteering in the Woltjen Lab as a first-year undergraduate and has been with us ever since, boasting the second longest tenure among current lab personnel. Alex was exceptional during his stay: he pioneered his own gene editing research, trained multiple interns and grad students, and also engaged the community as leader of the Kyoto University iGEM team for 2 years.
